HMPublications became part of the Heartland Marimba organization in 2015. HMP provides support to the classical marimba art form and the HM mission by focusing on compositions commissioned by HM, compositions written by HM artists, and compositions performed by the HMQuartet, HMEnsemble, and students at the HMFestival. We are also excited and interested in learning about many other new and compelling works for percussion instruments. HMP is working to help increase diversity within the art form and is committed to fostering inclusive representation.

HMP specializes in distinctive 21st-century solo, concerto, and chamber music for percussion, as well as transcriptions, arrangements, and adaptations. The pieces available through HMP will range from, but are not limited to, solo marimba transcriptions, keyboard percussion and dulcimer solos, percussion and dulcimer concertos (with chamber and large ensemble accompaniment), and a variety of mixed ensemble and percussion chamber music.

HMP is particularly interested in new ensemble works for keyboard percussion instruments. We try to make many of these pieces available in multiple versions to help provide flexibility for school programs. Additionally, HMP feels that it is important to make compelling arrangements and transcriptions available for percussionists. We have released many wonderful transcriptions for solo marimba or marimba/mallet ensemble.
