MARIMBA COMPETITION (Hosted by Heartland Marimba)
- 1. Two age categories: High School and College
- 2. Come prepared to perform a solo selection, 6 minutes or less in length.
- 3. Please bring a copy of the music for the judges. (Comments will be provided)
- 4. Winners will receive prizes and a chance to perform on the 5:00pm final concert.
- 5. Once you pay the registration fee HERE you are registered.
- 6. We will be in touch with the schedule (the competition will be held midday).
HIGH SCHOOL ENSEMBLE COACHING OPPORTUNITY
- Please email HM to let us know your desire to participate and we'll get you on the list.

- If you know the rep you want coached at the time of reaching out, please also send that with the size of the ensemble(s).
- Sessions are 15-20 mins, 1-2 pieces, no more than 10 mins of playing.
- Times are in the morning hours before lunch.
- We are asking for a $10 donation for each ensemble coached if the school is not a PAS member. This money will benefit the IA Chapter of PAS.

- 9-10am, rm 119 - 3 Small ensemble coachings
- 9am-10, Aud - Ensemble Coaching, various adjudicators (HM, Chris, Matt, Staci, etc) [ 15-20 mins, 1-2 pieces, no more than 10 mins of playing ]
- 10-10:30am - Welcome Meeting, Introductions, Quick and fast performance by HM
- 10:30-11:10, rm 121 - 2 Medium Ensemble Coaching, various adjudicators (HM, Chris, Matt, Staci, etc) [ 15-20 mins, 1-2 pieces, no more than 10 mins of playing ]
- 10:30-11:30, Aud - Ensemble Coaching, various adjudicators (HM, Chris, Matt, Staci, etc) [ 15-20 mins, 1-2 pieces, no more than 10 mins of playing ]
- 11:35-12:25, Aud - Snare class
- 12:30-1:30 - Lunch Break
- 12:30-2:15, rm 121 - Marimba Competition
- 1:30-2:20, Aud - West African Drumming with Staci
- 2:25-3:15, Aud - Timpani class
- 3:20-4:15, 119 - Drum set class
- 3-4:15pm, rm 121 - Marimba class with HM
- 3-4:45, Aud - Dress Rehearsal for concert
- TBA: ISU, UNI, UI, Luther and Wartburg, Drake, Simpson
- 5:00-6:20 - final concert ($10 Suggested Donation for PAS)
